We’re off to a roaring start this year, and wish all of our friends and colleagues a healthy, happy year.
We wanted to take the time to highlight some of our favorite projects from the previous year. We are so grateful to have had so many amazing opportunities. These are our top picks from 2019.
Nanette’s Top Pick: Defining Purpose for an Emerging Architecture Firm
“I had the unique opportunity to collaborate with SGH Architects in Redlands. The three principals started the firm two years ago, after having worked for larger companies for decades. Each of them wanted to form a culture very different from what they did working for other firms.”

I facilitated three strategy meetings, performed employee surveys and interviews and wrapped up the project with a company alignment workshop, where the entire staff discussed the firm’s values.
Beibei’s Top Pick: Peak 15 Systems Intro/Demo Video
“My favorite project last year was a promotional video for Peak 15 Systems. They are an international software company that provides cloud software for tour operators and adventure travel companies.”

Earlier in the year, we developed a landing page for their PPC campaigns and took the project a step further by developing a video that demonstrates how the software works. We wrote the script, did the storyboard and used Adobe Premiere for the production.
I designed custom graphics and video, animation and music. It brought the visual storytelling to life for an engaging communications promotion.
Meli’s Top Pick: Paper Rocket Ornament – Our 2019 Holiday Card
“My favorite project was our holiday card, which had a blueprint-themed card with instructions for a DIY paper rocket ornament. I had a lot of fun designing the rocket ornament and card—both inspired by the work our A/E/C clients do everyday.”

My rocket ornament featured a bright green alien from outer space, our Comet Creative’s logo and studio dog Mika. The card included instructions made to look like an architect’s blueprint with instructions on how to fold the rocket. I designed the rocket to be built without having to use any glue or tape. Tabs fold into their corresponding slots which holds the rocket together.
Our studio recently got a new Glowforge 3D Laser Printer which I used to cut out the rocket’s dieline. Learning how to use the Glowforge and what we can use the Glowforge for has been exciting. We can’t wait to see what project we’ll use it for next!
