The Black Hat 2013 conference is happening now in Las Vegas and extreme topics are on the agenda and extreme precautions have been warned for attendees.
As stated on ZDNet, “Black Hat has cautioned press, ‘You are about to enter one the most hostile environments in the world.’ The list of precautions is long, and includes not to use any ATM machines around the conference, keep our hotel keys deep in our belongings, not to use the wi-fi unless we are security experts, not to leave any devices out of sight (EVER!), and to change all of our passwords immediately after leaving Las Vegas.”
This level of security is beyond normal but what does it mean for us – small companies utilizing the Internet as a primary business tool for operations, sales and marketing?
Our top recommendation for securing your website and online accounts is to look at your passwords. This simple procedure can save your company from being an example at the next Black Hat conference. Read more on “How to Create Secure Passwords.”
