Carlsbad’s Cannon Gallery at the Dove Library is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an exhibit of paintings by DeLoss McGraw, who was the first artist exhibited in the gallery’s inaugural year. The new show opens November 21st and continues until January 16, 2011. The exhibit will feature McGraw’s new paintings that were influenced by author Gunter Grass’s book, “The Tin Drum.” For more information call 760-602-2021 or visit their website.
300,000 Combinations
Studio 2055 staff visited the Cannon Gallery in October and had lunch at the sleek and modern restaurant, The Counter. Located at the Forum shops in Carlsbad, we indulged in the creations of custom-built burgers.
It’s possible to create more than 300,000 combinations of hamburgers made from Angus beef (humanely raised and handled and 100% natural and hormone and antibiotic free), turkey, chicken or veggie. Side dishes include sweet potato fries, onion strings, fried dill pickles (great!) and turkey chili. Service is quick and efficient. A great place to eat. 1923 Calle Barcelona, in Carlsbad. 760-652-5480.
