Internships provide the opportunity for graduates to come to Comet and jump into real projects and experience the day-to-day operations of a design and marketing firm. This fall we have two great interns, Pann Yu and BeiBei An. Pann’s position provides marketing and social media support for the studio, while Beibei is designing logos and style guides and working on illustrations. Their contributions are substantial and, in turn, our mentorship and training gives them the necessary skills to advance in their careers. We are excited to have them on the Comet team!
Pann grew up with a love of media, but it wasn’t until she completed a M.S. in Chemistry that she realized her true passion lies in working in a creative environment and not in a stiff laboratory. After graduation, Pann dove into art, marketing with a fervor; she revived and took the reins on multiple social media platforms for her art, and she’s taking classes with a focus on marketing and design.
Pann uses her social media skills for her personal pages and a costuming group. In her spare time, Pann enjoys designing, sketching and crafting original and fan costumes! (Prancing around in costumes and eccentrically colored wigs may or may not be involved.)
Beibei was born and raised in a southwestern town in China that has mountains of rice noodle soups and real mountains. Having just graduated with her Masters Degree in Graphic Design from San Francisco Academy of Art University, she is eager to practice what she learned. Moving from NorCal to SoCal, she appreciates the sunshine and hospitality that has greeted her in San Diego.
Growing up in a video store owned by her parents, Beibei has always been fascinated with movie posters and album covers. Over the years, she has learned how to judge a work by its cover and how to sell to the right customer. Her constant curiosities about movie and album covers led her to the study and practice of graphic design.
Coming to Comet, Beibei is excited to be a part of lively the company’s culture. By providing constructive critique on her work, she’s grown at lightning speed and has fallen in love with working here.
