Of more than 1,000 entries submitted this year to the Gold Ink Award competition for magazines, Carlsbad-based Gemological Institute of America’s quarterly Gems & Gemology brought home the award. Allen Press, located in Lawrence, Kansas, Allen Press was honored for its printing excellence with the prestigious 2010 Gold Ink Award. Congratulations to Nanette Newbry, Creative Director at Studio 2055, who is responsible for the magazine’s design and production. Her knowledge and expertise in publication design enabled her to carry the magazine through a creative, award-winning process.
