GIA Collaborates with Comet Creative for Its Yearly Education Catalog and Annual Calendar
For twelve years, GIA (Gemological Institute of America) has engaged Comet Creative for a wide variety of projects that support their worldwide marketing efforts and eleven campuses throughout Europe, Asia and North America. The studio designed and produced both the 2014 GIA calendar and education catalog, now available for students and gemologists around the world.
The desktop calendar’s concept was taken from GIA’s new online Gem Encyclopedia. Sent to colleagues around the world as an appreciation during the holidays, the cover of every calendar features the greeting “Joy, Health, Prosperity,” translated into fifteen different languages.
“GIA is one of those companies that understands that ‘quality’ is everything. The 2014 calendar was produced on a premium paper, printed 5-color+satin aqueous coating with a spot UV coating on all the images. The easel stand was litho wrapped on a 50 point chipboard with split copper twin wire-o binding. These features designed by Comet Creative is what made the calendar a top notch product,” stated Curtis Conklin, of Neyenesch Printers, vendor for both projects and one of the studio’s printing partners.
The 2014 Education Catalog mirrors the branding on GIA’s Professional Education section of the website and is available for download. For individuals wishing to have a career in the jewelry and gemology industries, the catalog offers a full schedule of classes at the Robert Mouawad Campus, GIA World Headquarters in Carlsbad, and ten other campuses’ from New York to Japan. The design, writing and printing supports the GIA brand and the authority it has around the world. In total, 5,000 catalogs were printed.
