San Diego Architectural Foundation’s Context
BRANDING, IDENTITIES, FUND-RAISING COLLATERAL, INVITATIONS, PROGRAM
SDAF’s mission is to raise awareness for San Diego’s built environment. To kick off their newest program, Context, Studio 2055 designed the identity and brand as well as for the event Celebrating Civic Courage, the story of San Diego’s new central library. Dr. Irwin Jacobs and architect Rob Quigley engaged in an intimate conversation about the building’s architecture and the importance of public buildings. The Context identity conveys the conversational aspect of the forum along with a stylized “x” representing the idea of progression of architecture in our region. The jumping-off point for Celebrating Civic Courage was Rob’s dynamic sketch of the library with colors borrowed from the San Diego Public Library’s identity.
