Atop the beautiful new San Diego Public Library, the leaders in A/E/C marketing gathered for the second annual Rock Star Awards. Amid the beautiful women dressed in formal and semi-formal attire (and sharp-looking men too), the elegant evening provided a chance to socialize with friends and colleagues.
Throughout the dinner, awards were announced with the first and top award going to Comet Creative for the rebranding of RENO Contracting. This four-month project was headed by Creative Director Nanette Newbry; Walt Fegley, President of RENO Contracting; Eric Scheidlinger, Director of Project Development; and, RENO’s energetic marketing team
of Sara Young and Marcella Garofalo.
The relationship between the two firms spans two decades, giving both companies a level of trust and collaboration that informed the rebranding process. The project’s scope included:

During the event, Nanette spoke with Eric about their project. “The rebranding has helped us tremendously, especially when we’re talking with prospects. RENO is experiencing a backlog of projects until 2017 and continues to be short-listed and called in for interviews with prospective clients. The responsive website, proposal templates and other collateral saves loads of time in prepping proposals, posting new projects and blog posts and sending out relevant e-mail campaigns. These tools keep their marketing fresh, consistent and relevant in the highly competitive market. E-mail campaigns average a 28% open rate with a 67% rise in organic users for the website since the site’s redesign.
